Biography
After graduating from Texas A&M University, Dan began his career with Exxon Upstream Research Company as a geophysical engineer. Over the following 30 years he progressed through numerous technical and leadership assignments focused in oil and gas exploration and IT, while working in 6 different companies of the Exxon and ExxonMobil corporations. Since retiring in late 2012, Dan has focused on investing and trading across many different asset classes including stocks, futures, options, private equity, as well as participating in private placements and debt financing focused on natural resource companies. He has a strong interest in keeping up with and understanding the interplay of economics, geopolitics and trends, particularly with regard to their potential financial impacts and opportunities.

Meeting Location

Houston Investors Association usually meets on the second Saturday of each month at the University of Houston central campus, in the University Center (Student Center South, building 565) . The usual meeting rooms are on the second floor. The date and rooms may vary, so check the published meeting notice.

Parking is available in parking lot 20A  to the east of the UC, on Calhoun. Other parking is sometimes available, but on your first visit it is easier to park in lot 20A.
