Greetings! My name is Christopher Mathey, I would like to thank the HIA Board and members for agreeing to participate in my graduate studies survey. I am a graduate student of economic sociology at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. I am currently working on my Thesis, which will test whether social networks and behavioral norms cause money managers to share a common definition of investment risk. The Houston Chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors would like to extend an invitation to HIA members to attend our September meeting.
We received this announcement from the AAII:
With the passing of Wayne Baxmann, program chair/treasurer and the resignation of the chapter president, William Thorn, AAII will temporarily close the AAII Houston Chapter until after the AAII Investor Conference this November. At that time, an email will be sent to members in the area asking for volunteers for the Steering Committee which will be a team of volunteers who will reorganize the chapter meetings.
