The Houston Investors Association, founded in 1981, is a non-profit association of active investors with a wide range of investment experience and interests. Members meet monthly to exchange investment knowledge and ideas in an informal and friendly environment. We meet on the University of Houston campus in Melcher Hall. See Location
HIA attracts top-notch featured speakers. For example, the president of a capital management firm made a presentation of his approach to equity research, stock selection and the effects of asset allocation on total returns. His supporting research was made available on the Web site. Recently we had one of this country’s leading Energy and Natural Gas analyst, Carol Coale, who reviewed the challenges and opportunity for the Natural Gas Industry. Carol shared her insights and favorite energy and natural gas stocks. And we’re looking forward to more great speakers in the coming year.
